Sam on the Issues That Matter Most

Four years ago, Lee County voters made it clear that they expected higher standards from their school system. They chose conservative leadership, demanded accountability and transparency, and called for a renewed focus on students, parents, and taxpayers. Sam Fisher has worked to honor that mandate.

Over the past four years, we’ve made real progress in restoring stability, protecting students, strengthening fiscal discipline, and returning the focus of our classrooms to academic success. That progress is real and it’s worth fighting for. However, the work is not finished and now is not the time to let up.

Sam is committed to protecting the reforms that are working, improving the areas that need attention, and ensuring every student in Lee County can succeed. He’s seeking reelection to continue building a stronger, safer, and more accountable school district for our community, always making sure that every decision made by the School Board puts students, parents, and taxpayers first.

Sam’s Priorities for Lee County School Board

Raising Standards and Putting Learning First

The purpose of our schools is clear: to educate children and prepare them for success in life. Sam’s strong conservative leadership has helped remove political and ideological distractions from the classroom so teachers can teach and students can focus on real learning, core curriculum, and academic discipline. Classrooms are more focused, expectations are clearer, and student performance is being measured more seriously and shared more openly with parents and our community.

Sam believes every child should be challenged to reach their full potential and every school should be accountable for delivering results. He will continue working to strengthen instruction, raise expectations, and ensure student achievement continues improving in meaningful and measurable ways so every student in Lee County has the opportunity to excel in the classroom and life.

Safer Schools and Secure Learning Environments

Parents deserve to know that when their children go to school, they are safe, protected, and learning in an orderly environment. Sam has championed policies and initiatives that strengthen campus security, improve reliability in daily operations and transportation, and reinforce a culture of accountability and preparedness across the school district. Efforts such as the Guardian Program, the Safe Start initiative, and the implementation of Bus Patrol technology have helped protect students on campus, on the bus, at the bus stop, and on their way to and from school, giving families and staff greater peace of mind.

Safety is not a one-time goal, but an ongoing responsibility. Sam believes nothing comes before the safety and well-being of students and staff. He will continue working to ensure every school maintains strong security practices, consistent enforcement of rules and expectations, and a safe, structured learning environment where students and teachers can focus on education with confidence.

Respecting and Partnering with Parents

Parents are the first and most important influence in a child’s life, and they deserve to be treated as full partners in their child’s education. Sam has championed policies that strengthen transparency, improve communication with families, and ensure parents have a real voice in decisions that affect their children. These efforts have helped restore professionalism, rebuild trust, and reaffirm a fundamental truth that schools exist to serve students, families, and the community.

Sam believes parents should always know what is happening in their child’s classroom, have confidence in the learning environment, and be able to speak openly and honestly with district leadership. He will continue fighting to protect parental rights, promote openness and accountability, and maintain a school system that reflects the values, expectations, and priorities of the families of Lee County.

Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability

Lee County’s schools are funded by hardworking families and taxpayers, who deserve to know their dollars are being managed wisely and with complete transparency. Sam has fought to streamline spending, cut unnecessary bureaucracy, and strengthen oversight so resources are used wisely and tied to real results for students. Initiatives such as independent auditing, stronger financial review, and a renewed focus on identifying waste, fraud, and abuse have strengthened public trust and protected taxpayer dollars.

Sam’s principle is straightforward; he believes every dollar saved from bureaucracy should be directed toward classrooms, teachers, and student learning. As state and local budget pressures grow, he will continue prioritizing what matters the most, hold the system accountable for how funds are spent, and ensure the district lives within its means while supporting its core mission of educating students.

Preparing Students
for Success

Success looks different for every student, but every student deserves the same opportunity to build a successful and productive life. Sam has championed the continued growth of career and technical education programs that prepare students for skilled trades, local industry, public service, military careers, and college pathways. These programs help students develop real world skills, connect with employers, and prepare for work that strengthens both their families and our community.

Sam believes schools should celebrate and encourage students whose goals include trades, technical fields, and hands on professions with the same enthusiasm we give to those choosing a college route. He also believes students must be prepared for a rapidly changing workplace influenced by technology and artificial intelligence, and that these tools should enhance learning, not replace critical thinking and the human connection.

Sam will continue working in our community to expand partnerships with local businesses and industry, strengthen workforce and apprenticeship opportunities, and ensure students graduate prepared for the careers, responsibilities, and technological demands that await them.

Strong Teachers, Stable Classrooms, Better Outcomes

Strong schools start with strong teachers and stable classrooms. Sam has worked to address staffing shortages, place experienced teachers where they’re needed most, and improve stability so students benefit from consistent instruction and clear expectations throughout the school year. As a result, the district has sharply reduced teacher vacancies, and today nearly every classroom is led by a certified teacher, something that was thought to be unobtainable in recent years. The district has also begun rewarding high performing teachers who are willing to bring their experience and leadership into underperforming schools, helping strengthen those campuses and improve outcomes for students who need it most. These efforts have helped improve learning environments and restore professionalism across the district.

Sam believes teachers deserve leadership that supports them, maintains high standards, and provides the tools and structure they need to succeed in the classroom. He will continue pushing to recruit and retain top quality educators, improve training and professional support, and ensure teachers can focus on teaching so students can benefit from safe, disciplined, and well managed classrooms.
